Let’s look at the spread of these sanskaras. Three sanskaras to be done before you’re even born. What do these sanskaras mean? What are these? And when should they be done? Now, there’s always a layered interpretation, which is possible when you get down to our scriptures. Because based on who are the two people who are interacting?
There’s an engagement level like rich conversation happens. So to take it at the most obvious level – let’s see what the three sanskaras before birth means. What is called the first – the garbhsanskar. That is typically the point at which the conception happens. Now, how to define which is the instant conception actually happens. Now for most people at the elementary level, we believe that it’s when a man and woman have had a physical intimacy and that resulted in a conception. But that again is subject to vaguely as we know. Well, that is just one side of the story – is conception only in the physical realm becomes the more important question. It is not.
The fact of conception happens much before the physical union of the sperm and the egg. And this is a fact which science is recognizing more and more today. So the scientific perspective now is that there is a minimum of a period of three to four months when the primitive sperms and the primitive eggs are getting structured.
The genetic patterns are getting created even then. So the garbhsanskar has a much deeper meaning in the context, of they getting a child, which is going to be full and going to live a full life for itself. So getting to garbhadna is a process of conception, which predates physical realities. And that includes dimensions, which are, which are actually very spiritual.
But to give, to give the perspective of how you can look at this. Let me state that every aspect of energy, which is required starts happening because of human intention. Now, the power of human intention, we don’t know this, we underestimate it. The intention is the starting point and this was a very important part of our culture from day one.
Now, who makes an intention of conception? Is it the husband and wife? Is it just them? Well, they are very important players, but you could be having other realities working as well. And this wasn’t very much a part of our culture where we use to recognize that the family of the boy, the family of the girl, if they decided to engage with each other, for the purpose of furtherance of the family streams, that itself was a sankal at one point of time.
Second, take it to the time of marriage. Marriage would involve certain rituals and each of these rituals – be it havans, be it other forms of rituals, they would emphasize the creative, that is the genetic aspects of what needs to be taken into account. How? The genes to combine where given directions, were given shapes, were given alterations, which would start with, even switch for impo at the time of marriage. For example, a garbhadana, homum or a havan used to be performed, larger homum, a havan used to be performed.
And after that, there used to be a time gap before the actual consummation of the marriage in the physical sense. And at the time of physical consummation, there used to be a certain set of tantras, yantras, mantras – combinations, which used to be used that used to begin prochimy appropriately. That was the science of the ancients, which again, fuses with modern knowledge of how to work together to bring about a fusion of ancient wisdom and modern science.
So what we do atomy of future is fundamentally to put together this knowledge so that people can benefit from the pearls of ancient wisdom in a very simple operative manner in the course of day-to-day life. If you take the next sanskaras, why the next two sanskaras, one at the end of the third month, one at the end of the seventh month.
Now, the third month, now again, we know through advance sciences today, that typically there is a completion of the first trimester, which signifies many things. First, of which is, the identity gets frozen, till that time, the complete freezing of the identity of the soul or the entity who’s coming into this world to take shape as a human being of a certain set of parents is indeterminate, but it takes a final dimension of complete identification in the third month so that samskaras is called Pumsavana.
This freezes the gender identity for certain, in fact, preceding the third month, it’s very difficult to identify the gender or the sex of the child. So what gets established in the third month by the end of the third month is typically the gender identity of the child, which is a very important identity because with that identity you are going to live the rest of your life.
So that’s the first freezing of your identity in the third month. Along with that, if you look at the physical science of it. The first trimester is the foundation based upon which the second and third-trimester activities take place. So your foundational definition for each of your organs is taking place in the course of the first trimester.
So, by the third month, the blueprint of all the organs should be developing is known. So if you look at it, the name given for the third month of pregnancy is called ankura – it’s a bud. So the budding, the shape of things to come is completely crystallized in the third month. And therefore, an opportunity for genetically re-engineering, therefore, comes the garbdhana samskara.
Similarly, the seventh month, the seventh month is a culmination, of the complete development of a fetus, which has gone through every structure of cells, and tissues and organs, and bones and is all of it. Finally, the awareness in that consciousness comes in to say that I should take ownership of this body and move ahead with this journey.
So the physical structure gets a consciousness element of awareness to say that I own this body and I should go ahead with this journey. This is a huge moment for life. This is a huge moment for every human being. That’s the marking of your arrival. In fact, many countries have legalized this, but the fact is that if you’re born as a preemie, as a premature baby in the seventh month or after that, your chances of survival are very, very high, because there’s an owner for that body. Preceding that it’s very difficult because there’s no owner for that body.
So that crystallization happens in the seventh month and therefore it warrants an important samskara called Simantonnayana or godhbharai as it is popularly called. Now it’s become a social function, like, you know, lots of pop and gaity, which was never away from our culture. It was always required to have pop and gaity and color in the codes of our functions. So people wearing nice Sarees and nice clothes and having good food is essential in that.
But why is it essential? Because for a baby who’s achieved awareness of itself in a complete sense, is the first welcome party. It’s the first welcome party with colors apart from the parents because the parents always had a connection. The close relatives, neighborhood people, everybody coming together, the baby listens and resonates with the voices.
Gets a feel of the energies of the people who are present there? So, therefore, it becomes an arrival, the first welcome party to the child. So there’s a deeper meaning with every samskara at every level – before birth, after birth. Well, let me take just one more example of after birth – namkaran. How do you name a child today? I do Google, right. Or my grandfather had this design, I think nowadays that has gone away, gone away. Grandfather’s, grandmother’s name and all those things like it’s not required. We will look at something more modern.
So when you come to looking at modern, there’ll be somebody’s suggestions, somebody’s choice and things like that. But there’s a science behind that and that’s a recognition of the naamkaran. Samskara – naamkarana – you are giving a name to an entity. Just close your eyes and just imagine anything in the world which you are engaged with – a person, object, situation, whatever it might be, anything in your life. If you don’t give it a form, if you don’t give it a name, that thing does not exist.
Just close your eyes. Okay. You exist in reality when you have to give a name and the form – naama and roopa. If these two things are not there, it has no existence. Now, this high philosophical. When you say philosophical it’s energy-laden, potent energy-laden time is recognized in our scriptures very differently. So naamkarna, becomes according to the name, inconsonant with energies, which a child has to carry in the course of its life. So every alphabet, every enunciation pronunciation generates a particular type of wave and frequency. So it’s estimated that two-four crore times is the number of repetitions of your own name, which you’ll hear. So every one of them was resonance and therefore change.
If you like it or not, mobile radiations change no. Your 30, 30% of the species vanished because of mobile radiation. So you cannot say that it doesn’t affect us, mobile radiations affect us. Similarly, every resonance impacts us. So a resonance has power, my own identity, my name being called out so many times, and me hearing it, is going to have a more deep impact.
So the science of naming the child in accordance with the confluences of energies through cosmic influences be it grahas, nakshatras these are deep sciences. It said that give a name pattern, which is in harmony with the basic energy patterns of this child and therefore makes it easier for the child to access other energies.
So after a child is born, you want the child to do well in school, you want the child to be healthy. You want to do everything so we can empower it right from the womb. We can empower it right from the time it is born. So each one of these becomes an instrument or a tool to empower the creative abilities of a child. So naamkaran is not just choosing a name.
And today you get names like Pinky, Dinky, Rinky, which really don’t have any kind of resonance value at all. So what does it mean? You really have to look at how do I address an individual to make sure that they get the power of what I’m calling them with? Okay. Associating the energy patterns is one of them that’s the beauty of ancient wisdom. Modern science is looking back to ancient wisdom simply because they understood the world of energies very well. The quantum scientists recognize. Be it Einstein, Heisenberg. Every one of the quantum scientists of the world looked back into ancient wisdom, which includes present-day scientists. Every one of them comes back and says that this knowledge is the one, which we are coming to. All our science has either arrived here or is going to arriving here as some other facet of maternal reality.
